Deciding to End Sarcoma Treatment
Dr. Paul Meyers:If you and your doctor feel that your disease is unlikely to be cured, it's very important that you determine what is the most important thing in your life, or in the life of your loved-one. People talk about quality of life - it's not an imaginary concept, it's a real thing. If the treatment that you're receiving are buying time, but the cost is too high, you have to consider the option of discontinuing therapy. You have the right, and for some patients it's the right decision to make. And your doctors and nurses will understand and support you in that decision.
