A Brief Update on SARC
An ESUN Article
What is SARC?
The Sarcoma Alliance for Research Through Collaboration (SARC) provides the infrastructure for collaboration between physicians, researchers, and medical institutions from across the world who are engaged in clinical research for development of new standards of patient treatment, education, and prevention. SARC facilitates dialogue and collaboration among sarcoma researchers and clinicians, assists in the development and dissemination of protocols for clinical trials and information relating to sarcoma research and the results of clinical trials, administers research grants and funding for clinical trials, and acts as a primary resource for those treating sarcoma. SARC is a 501(c)3 Michigan non-profit organization started in 2003. Funding for SARC is provided by generous donations, sponsors and grants.
Denise Reinke, MS, NP named President and Chief Operations Officer of SARC
SARC's Board of Directors met recently and approved reorganization of SARC's infrastructure. Importantly, Dr. Larry Baker will continue to lead this organization in his role as Chairman of the Board. Drs. Lee Helman, Robert Benjamin, George Demetri and Shreyas Patel will continue to provide strategic guidance as members of the Executive Committee. Denise Reinke, MS, NP has been endorsed as the new President and Chief Operations Officer of SARC. She will have overall operational responsibility as well as serve on both the executive committee and finance committee of the board.
