The "Sarcoma Knows No Borders" Bracelet

Sarcoma BraceletsWe have received requests from all over the world for the "Sarcoma Knows No Borders" bracelet. We have been told that the photo shown below does not do it justice.

The background color is a swirl of a pathology slide of a sarcoma patient. The bracelet is reversible. "Sarcoma Knows No Borders" is printed on one side and on the other side the word "sarcoma" is printed in 13 of the world's languages. We use the phrase "Sarcoma knows no borders" because sarcomas can occur anywhere in the body and they don't discriminate on age, gender, race or creed and they occur in countries all over the world. Each bracelet is individually packaged and comes with a brief "Sarcoma Facts" sheet. Our 6-year old granddaughter wears one as an ankle bracelet; she's quite the fashion plate. Bracelets can be ordered here.

Team Sarcoma 2006

See the article, "Voices that will be Heard," in this issue of ESUN for an update on the events that are taking place under the banner of the Team Sarcoma 2006 project. This project is the framework of an internationally coordinated event to raise public awareness of sarcoma. Think of it as an "International Bike, Run, Walk, and Swim for Sarcoma Awareness" event. The press and TV coverage of Team Sarcoma 2006 will help make tens of thousands of people, worldwide, aware of this devastating and deadly cancer. Such awareness can potentially affect the lives of tens of thousands of families and aid in directing money toward research to find methods to diagnose and cure this disease.

2006 Ty Cheverier Open to Benefit Chondrosarcoma Research

Due to the generosity of the Cheverier family, proceeds from the first annual Ty Cheverier Open will benefit the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative and the Cheverier Children's Trust Fund. The funds received by the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative will be targeted toward chondrosarcoma research. The golf tournament will take place on September 8, 2006 at the Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut. If you are interested in participating in it, please contact Steve VanGasbeck at 860-798-4304.
